Theatre Teachers of Color: Writer – Book

·       Collaborating with nine other theatre teachers of color and Dr. Jo Beth Gonzalez (Temporary Stages II: Critically Oriented Drama Education) on a book about our experiences as theatre teachers of color. We further discuss how these experiences shaped our pedagogy, how we work in our classroom, how we work with students, and how we continue to strive to improve our field for all students and teachers of color.

·       Co-founded this LA-based theatre company that produces a yearly three-production season of new work

·       From 2016-2019, Lead Producer of over ten new works while managing all social media outlets, networking, and production needs and from 2016 to Present, Lead Producer of the company’s annual Hollywood Fringe Festival production

 

The Cohen New Works Festival – The Rainbow Connection (TYA): Project Lead/ Playwright/Director

  • Lead and facilitated a devising & collaborating process with 20 UT Theatre & Dance undergraduate students

  • Created a fundraising campaign and a community engagement aspect for the show that allowed the cast & crew to go into the community and connect while inviting the community to come to our production and engage

  • Hosted one the festival’s first TYA productions as well as the first ever sensory-friendly performance created for families with students on the autism spectrum to come see a theatre performance in a safe and welcoming environment
